CHARITY DONATIONS
1990 - 2009 : Total £30465.11
The choir exists for the study and performance of a variety of choral music. However a major aim of the choir is to raise funds for local worthwhile charities. Each year the choir members nominate a local charity or worthwhile cause that is close to their hearts and the full membership then decide on the one that will benefit from monies raised at the choirs Christmas concert.
Over the year the choir has donated many thousands of pounds to these local charities and causes as follows:
December 2009
Motor Neurone Disease Association £2100
Bette Little Treasurer and Dorothy Chaplin MD (SELC), Glynne Jones Vice Chair (MNDA South West Wales), Lynda Richards MD (SELC), Lesley Frost Secretary (MNDA), Judith Davey Vice Chair (SELC), and Maggie Trevett-Evans Chair (MNDA) at the cheque presentation on 8th February 2010. Representative children from Sketty Primary School Choir were unfortunately unavailable for the presentation.
